Malveira

The Malveira, better known as the “Malveira dos bois” was founded in 1363 that the twentieth century was held in the parish of S. Miguel de Alcainça. It is inhabited by about 4,457 people.

One of the best known faces of Malveira is of Armando Lucena ─ Sernancelhe 23-09-1886 ─ Lisboa 25-04-1975. It was the painter and art historian, President of the National Society of Fine Arts and was called "The last painter novelist."

The Malveira is also known for its fairs. One is the show of cattle to be held on Thursday, another is the show's Malveira held also on Thursday at the square Friday, one of the largest in the country and the other is FexpoMalveira, a fair agro-livestock, which is held annually in the second week of August.

The restaurants are best known are: "O Saloio", "A Melita," "Paradise", "Monte Negro", "O Estêvão”," "Flor do Mar" and "Gato." The food is typical of the pack and Malveira Bread Saloio.

Malveira exist in two schools, the Basic School of the second and third cycles of Professor Armando Lucena and the Basic School first cycle (EB1) of Malveira.

There is also the Malveira, a football stadium, named "Stadium of Seixas" which was inaugurated in 1940 and has capacity for 12 500 people.

The Best of Portugal


In this work we will talk about:
The history of Portugal, our traductions, the typical cuisine and the most important monuments.



Before the formation of Portugal some People left the traces of their cultures. These people were the Lusitanian, the Romans, the Muslims and the Germanic peoples.
Was founded in 1143, becoming independent from Castile and Leon (Spain).The first king of Portugal was D.Afonso Henriques.


Portugal Ocean at the time of the discoveries was a great pioneer, inventing new instruments, boating, new boats and new ways to navigate. Portugal has become country rich thanks to the discoveries and eventually enter into crisis years later and lose the power it had at the time of discovery.
